C'est Carlos Checa qui a signé le meilleur temps!!!
Voici la news (en Anglais, sorry, mais les textes en Français devraient suivre bientôt):
Spain's Sete Gibernau (Telefonica Movistar Honda) was the first man ever to dip into the 1m29s bracket when he recorded a 1m29.9 this morning but it was fellow Spaniard Carlos Checa (Ducati) who ended the day fastest with a scorching 1m29.8 to underline just how big a threat Bridgestone is going to be Michelin this year.
Valentino Rossi (Gauloises Yamaha) was third quickest with a 1m30.2s lap just ahead of Repsol Honda riders Nicky Hayden and Max Biaggi.
"That was fast and it even felt very fast." Said Gibernau.
Rossi was also impressed with Gibernau's speed. "I think Sete is going very fast but it will be a tough championship and the battle for the races will be at 100%."
Mick Doohan still thinks Rossi has the edge. "Over the duration of the races I think Valentino will still be the quickest, especially over the final laps.
"Plus testing is always a wonderful time to make yourself look good and pick the best time of the day to be fast.
"But it all stops when you go racing, you have to be fast at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon and be quicker than everyone else."
Troy Bayliss also made huge steps forward today and broke into the 1m30s, recording a 1m30.9 to be tenth overall on the timesheets in what is shaping up to be a year possibly even closer that the record breaking 2004 season which was more than a dozen riders covered by less than a second at most rounds.
Doohan also offered his comments on Bayliss. "The Honda would be a different characteristic than the Ducati Troy used to race but he's obviously a fast rider so he just has to get his head around that. Maybe he needs to slow down and not push so hard to go faster."
Max Biaggi and Marco Melandri had small tumbles today but escaped unhurt while Tamada sat the day out after bashing himself aorund yesterday. The Japanese rider was the fastest man overall at the previous test and hopes to ride in tomorrow's final day of testing.
