Comeback surprise de Iannone pour la séance FP3 à Valence
Après une première journée difficile, l’Italien a très vite rattrapé son retard pour se hisser au sommet de la feuille de temps Moto2 samedi matin, avec le meilleur chrono du week-end.
Andrea Iannone vient de présenter une solide candidature à la pole position à Valence en réalisant le meilleur temps Moto2 depuis le début du week-end lors de la troisième et dernière séance d’essais. Le pilote du team Fimmco Speed Up, qui était 21ème hier soir, a tourné en 1’36.433 et devance Alex de Angelis (JiR Moto2) de 0.290s.
Le Turc Kenan Sofuoglu, qui avait été très convaincant le week-end dernier au Portugal pour ses débuts dans la catégorie, réalise quant à lui le troisième temps sur la Suter MMX du team Technomag-CIP.
Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing), qui avait dominé les deux premières séances d’essais, termine avec le quatrième temps (+0.381s) de la séance mais reste le deuxième pilote le plus rapide ce week-end, tandis que Julián Simón (Mapfre Aspar), le rival de Iannone dans la lutte pour le titre de vice-Champion, est cinquième à 0.550s de l’Italien.
L’Américain Kenny Noyes (Jack&Jones by Antonio Banderas), le Tchèque Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing) et le Britannique Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team) complètent le top 8 devant le Champion du Monde Toni Elías (Gresini Racing) et le Suisse Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Moriwaki).
La séance de qualifications Moto2 commencera à 15h10.
