Simoncelli sent to hospital after Sepang highside :
The start of the second and final day of testing at Sepang began badly for
MotoGP rookie Marco Simoncelli, who was sent to hospital for checks after a big highside on only his third lap.
“Marco is having a scan in hospital to examine his condition,” Simoncelli's team manager, Fausto Gresini, told
Crash.net. “He had a big hit to his head.
“He only did two laps and then had a big crash at turn seven. The bike went full sideways, gripped and then he had a big highside.
“Now we have to wait and see what the doctors say. I don't know any more information at this time.”
The San Carlo Honda Gresini rider fell at 11.06am, just over an hour after the track opened for testing.
Team-mate
Marco Melandri also fell this morning, but was fortunately unhurt.
