Hodgson Back to AMA ?
Neil Hodgson will likely make a brief return to the AMA Superbike Championship on a Corona Honda as part of the combined AMA/MotoGP race weekend.
Hodgson is shaking down the Corona Honda during a Fastrack Riders test at California Speedway in Fontana, California. Though no decision has been made, Hodgson is hopeful of being reunited with his friends in the AMA paddock.
“The team is absolutely mega, superb,” Hodgson said in a cell phone conversation during a break in Friday testing. “Great atmosphere. Everyone is so much into making this work. It’s an absolute pleasure to be here.”
It was premature to offer an evaluation of the Honda CBR1000RR, Hodgson said.
“Just having fun at the moment. Riding around the track with a lot of people on a track day. That’s the only sketchy thing. I’m seeing a lot of new lines. Apart from that, it’s superb.”
Hodgson was left without a ride after Ducati North America pulled out of AMA Superbike racing at the end of last season. There were talks with various interested parties, but nothing gelled, and Hodgson was left unemployed for the first time in years. To fill his time, he's been testing Bridgestone tires for Ducati, both on their 999 F07 Superbike and the 800cc Desmosedici GP7. He also recently tested a Suzuki GSX-R1000 for the Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team. Hodgson also did a lap of honor aboard a Honda RC-30 during the Isle of Man Centenary celebrations.
Hodgson met with Corona Honda team principal Tim Saunders at Daytona and “never thought anything would come of it, like you don’t. We just chatted and he said if something worked out sometime, would I be interested? I said of course. I’m a free agent.” He's also stayed in touch season with Duane McCracken, the crew chief for Corona Honda’s James Ellison.
Saunders and Hodgson met again during the centenary of the Isle of Man, where Hodgson lives and Saunders was visiting. Hodgson said he was definitely interested and they set up the test.
The Fastrack test goes for two days, which, Hodgson says, in theory “would be enough, but in reality it’s not going to be.” The team also plans to test Sunday, with James Ellison joining in to evaluate the launch control and traction control systems.
Corona Honda’s Saunders said he’d have a more definitive answer on Hodgson’s future just after the conclusion of the test.

Avec des Bridge?
Comme il est essayeur pour la marque, je suis tente de dire oui.
Mais comme je sais pas si quelqu'un roule avec ces gommes en AMA, peut-etre que c'est aussi pour que les nippons aillent tater le marché US.

Il a sa place ou il est l'année prochaine sur une 1098 f08 et il ne veut plus d'une ecurie de pointe
Il la dit dans une interview dernierement car maintenant il a une vie a coté de la moto donc veut etre un peu plus tranquille c'est pour ca qu'il veut(voulait) rester la ou il est
Car il est dans un team privé donc avec moins de pression et peut quand meme jouer devant donc a mon avis il a tout interet a rester

AMA: Hodgson unlikely to replace Miguel Duhamel at Honda America
Neil Hodgson’s hopes of replacing injured Miguel DuHamel in the Honda America team look unlikely with the team opting to field just one rider at Virginia International Raceway next weekend.
Miguel Duhamel suffered a horror crash at the infamous turn 12 at Road Atlanta and sustained severe injuries including a lacerated liver and perforated lung.
Reports from America suggest Miguel Duhamel lost the front and slid into the air bags, but because his bike went into the air fencing first it lifted it up causing him to crash into the wall.
The Canadian is now out of hospital and although he has been ruled out of this weekend’s racing is targeting a return to the series by the end of the month.
Britain’s Neil Hodgson rode for the Corona Extra Honda team at Laguna Seca last month and has been in contact with Honda America about replacing Miguel Duhamel.
Neil Hodgson said: “I really feel for Miguel because turn 12 at Road Atlanta is a horrendous place to crash, it’s a fast third gear down hill right hander with no run off.
“I’ve been speaking with the team and it looked a possibility last week but now I don’t think they are not planning on replacing him for the weekend and they think he can be fit for the following round.”
Following Neil Hodgson’s successful weekend speaking with teams at the Brands Hatch World Superbikes round, he is still waiting to hear from the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team about replacing the outgoing James Toseland in the Dutch squad.

il est demandez partout , c est bien , apres ce debut de saison 2007 galere pour lui.il a le niveau aussi bien pour rouler en AMA qu en WSBK.mais bon avec honda qui cherche un remplaçant a toseland , aprillia qui revient , MV qui sort l artillerie lourde avec foggy.va y avoir du poids lourds pour le titre en 2008.

ouai c'est vrai que cette annee on a le droit a des "come back" entre west et hodgson c'est cool ça fait plaisir esperons que ce soit bon pour l'annee prochaine
