I've had Mike di Meglio in my gravelbed twice. I'm marshall in Assen, so I had some French guys dropping of their bikes...
Erwan Nigon for example. His clutchhandle was broken, so he couldn't start his engine. But he insisted in going on, so I pulled some electronics from his bike to show him that the bike was f*cked up
When he saw that, he let me take his bike and ended his practice session.
Mike di Meglio crashed with 200+ kms and destroyed his bike. That was in 2004 I believe, when he did the European Championship. His frame wasn't straight at all. His teammanager and a mechanic came to have a look. You couldn't see a thing on the bike, cause it had jumped on front and rear wheel. I showed that to the guys, the were silent and left. He didn't participate in the race on saturday....
