Stoner essaye la 1000 RC212V

Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner is impressed with his first test of the 2012 1000cc RC212V which took place today at Jerez, saying it is very stable on the brakes and the power delivery is equally smooth but the overall feel in terms of setup is similar to the current 800.

Stoner is the sole HRC man at the test as Dani Pedrosa has a broken collarbone and Andrea Dovizioso wasn't invited and the Aussie says the Spaniard is important to the development of the bike.

"Everything has gone very well, very positive. It's just nice to ride the 1000cc again, to feel the engine and the power. I had a lot of fun, I enjoyed the first day because everything we've tried seems to be working, so no complaints. The biggest disappointment is that Dani is not going be here to test as he is important to the development of this bike," said Stoner.

"I hope that soon HRC can get his input as well because we need as much data as possible, in order to be ready for next season. We didn't focus on anything special today, just tried to understand what the bike is doing, how it reacts on the brakes and things like that, also considering some the issues we have with the 800cc right now.

"The braking point seems to be stronger, stability in the front going into the corner seems to be very good, and of course we want to understand how the power delivery is, and it is very smooth so no problem. In general, we haven't changed too much from the set up we have on the 800cc right now and the feeling is very similar, so it's pretty good."

1/ Je noterais que Dovi n'a pas été invité à tester la 1000cc
2/ Du politiquement correct de Stoner qui regrete l'absence de Pedrosa pour aider au developpement de la moto.
3/ Une 1000cc qui reprendrait la continuité de la 800cc actuellement dominatrice, plutôt tout bon pour honda.

Casey Stoner a été impressionné par ses premier essais de la 1000cc prévue pour 2012. Il a déclaré que la machine était très stable au freinage, et que le moteur délivrait sa puissance de matière progressive, et que globalement, elle ressemblait beaucoup à la 800 actuelle.
Stoner était le seul pilote HRC à tester la moto, Dani étant blessé, et Dovizioso tout simplement pas invité. L'australien à dit que Dani était important pour le développement de la moto.

"Tout c'est bien passé, tout a été positif. Cela a été très agréable de rouler à nouveau sur une 1000cc et de sentir cette puissance et ce moteur."
"Je me suis bien amusé, et j'ai bien aimé le premier jour où tout ce que nous avons essayé a semblé bien fonctionner".
"La plus grande déception a été l'absence de Dani qui n'a pu venir ici, et dont le travail de développement est important pour cette machine."

"J'espère que le HRC pourra avoir les commentaires de Dani bientôt, car nous avons besoin d'un maximum de données afin d'être prêt pour la prochaine saison."
"Nous n'avons rien testé de spécial, juste observé comment la moto réagissait sur les freinages, et quelques autres choses que nous avons pu comparer avec la 8000 actuelle."
"La stabilité au freinage est bonne, et la stabilité du train avant en entrée semble vraiment très bonne, et très progressive."
"En gros, il y a peu de différence de setting entre la 800 et la 1000, et les réactions sont très proches, ce qui est plutôt positif"

Mais bon, juste une 1ère prise en main... les choses importantes çà sera quand les chronos seront de sortie.

PS: en 2012, aura t-on le cumul 800-1000 (comme on avait avec les 990 - 800 avec la Ilmor ou encore en 2002 avec les 500 2T vs 1000 4T)?
Il est presque sûr que les 1000 seront mieux armées mais comme à l'époque des 500 2T, les 800 sont en bout de développement donc fiables.
