Edwards, Haga reunite for Suzuka 8 Hours.
Colin Edwards and Noriyuki Haga will reunite their winning 1996 Suzuka 8 Hours partnership when they lead Yamaha's latest assault on the world famous endurance race, on July 30.
The pair, former rivals in both World Superbike and MotoGP, have been called up to head the Yamaha Blue Racing team's 2006 entry on a specially prepared YZF-R1 SP. The event will mark a reunion of the rider pairing which won the 1996 event, when they rode a Yamaha YZF750SP.
Edwards currently rides for the Camel Yamaha MotoGP team - and came within metres of a debut victory at Assen on Saturday. The American has won the Suzuka 8-Hour three times and was World Superbike champion in 2000 and 2002.
Haga is currently second in the 2006 Corona Extra Superbike World Championship, where he rides a YZF-R1 for the Yamaha Motor Italia squad. It will be Haga's first entry in the 8-hour since 2001.
